Spectrum of Rockford LGBT was founded in August 2009 by several LGBT mental health counselors who are also LGBT oriented.  Due to a lack of service and social activities for our community in the Rockford, IL area, we decided to create a safe location that is alcohol and smoke free.

Spectrum of Rockford LGBT provides fun and supportive activities for those age 13 and up.

Come out to an alcohol free and smoke free environment that is cozy, comfortable, and safe!

Spectrum of Rockford LGBT provides supportive services such as individual therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy led by professional staff who are also LGBT oriented. 

Cost of Services

Social activities have a minimal cost that is either FREE or up to $15.00 per person.

The private practice professional therapy services are covered by most EAP and insurance companies.  These services are coordinated with the Professional Offices of Dr. Lisa A. Breisch. 

As a courtesy to all clients, we will help to verify your insurance benefits and obtain pre-authorization for services. We are sorry but we are not covered by medicare, public aid, or the medical card. 

A sliding fee scale of $75.00/hour is also available for people without insurance.

Our Founder

Dr. Lisa A. Breisch, Psy.D.

Director and Psychotherapist

Dr. Breisch has been involved with several diversity organizations since 1996.  She is a psychotherapist that has been in private practice since 2001.  Dr. Breisch is a graduate of the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL.  One of her many specializations is in diversity counseling with an emphasis on LBTQ  issues.

Hello, I have been part of the Spectrum staff since March 2011.  I have three children ages 19, 15, and 12.  I am in a happy relationship with a wonderful woman.  I graduated from Rockford Career College in April 2011.  In addition to being the office manager of Spectrum, I am also Spectrum's massage therapist.  Give me a call and arrange to stop by and visit Spectrum.  You also may see me helping to lead events and activities.

Hello, I have been a board member and volunteer at Spectrum since March 2011.  I am also a member of the Transgender Support Group.  Currently, I am proud to be an active board member of the 1st Annual Rockford Pride Fest that will be held at Davis Park on June 9th 2012!
