Spectrum of Rockford GLBTQ was founded in August 2009 by several GLBT mental health counselors who are also GLBT oriented.  Due to a lack of service and social activities for the GLBTQ community in the Rockford, IL area, we decided to create a Clubhouse in a safe location that is alcohol and smoke free.

Spectrum of Rockford GLBTQ provides supportive services such as individual therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy led by professional staff who are also GLBT oriented. 

Cost of Services

Social activities have a minimal cost of $5.00 to $15.00 per person.

Therapy services are covered by most EAP and insurance companies.  As a courtesy to all clients, we will help to verify your insurance benefits and obtain pre-authorization for services. A sliding fee scale is also available for people without insurance or who have public aid or medicare.  Please call our office for more information.

Who We Are

Dr. Lisa A. Breisch, Psy.D.

Director and Psychotherapist

Dr. Breisch has been involved with several diversity organizations since 1996.  She is a psychotherapist that has been in private practice since 2001.  Dr. Breisch is a graduate of the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL.  sOne of her many pecializations is in diversity counseling with an emphasis on GLBTQ  issues.

Naomi Nordine, M.A.

Mental Health Therapist

Ms. Nordine is a 2009 graduate of the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL.  She has completed a professional internship of 1000+ hours at The Professional Offices of Dr. Lisa A. Breisch, Psy.D.  She specializes in GLBTQ counseling and has affiliations with The Center On Halsted in Chicago, IL.  Ms. Nordine loves to do GLBTQ group therapy, which is her specialty.  She identifies as lesbian and is in a committed relationship with her partner who is transgendered ftm.

Steven Christopher, B.A.

Mental Health Counselor and Spectrum Coordinator 

Mr. Christopher is in the Masters Degree program at the Adler School of Profesional Psychology.  He will be graduating in 2010.  He is an intern at The Professional Offices of Dr. Lisa A. Breisch, Psy.D.  Mr. Christopher is specializing in GLBTQ counseling.  He identifies as gay and is in a serious relationship.
