INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY AT SPECTRUM ROCKFORD LGBTQA
Spectrum of Rockford LGBTQA is accepting applications from students for a year long internship opportunity. We have positions available for Master's Level graduate students who are enrolled in either a Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or LGBT/Gender Studies program. Here are the requirements and position details:
- Commitment of at least two days a week to the internship. Hours are Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
- Mandatory Fridays from 12:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
- Can be any orientation - straight, gay, lesbian, or bisexual.
- Must be LGBT-positive and have some experience or interest in the LGBT community.
- Any marital status, religious affiliation, race, size, or gender are accepted.
- Must be well versed in the LGBT community or be willing to learn.
- Must be have a reliable car in order to drive to locations for networking.
- Must be professional and be able to represent Spectrum of Rockford LGBTQA.
- Must be in good academic standing at graduate school.
- Must have good verbal and writing skills.
- Must know how to type and navigate the internet.
- Must be outgoing with good social skills and manners.
- Must have or be willing to learn secretarial duties.
- Must have leadership skills or be willing to learn to co-lead/lead groups, game nights, and social events.
- Must have good phone skills to return calls, promote events, and build the Spectrum of Rockford LGBTQ membership.
- Must be drug/addiction free and a clean criminal background. We will conduct a background check.
- Mandatory requirement to obtain one's own individual therapy with an outside clinician.
- Must participate in weekly individual and group supervision.
