As progress keeps being made in the political, social, and medical arenas...and LGBT issues are coming to the forefront of the public consciousness, now is a wonderful time to make your voice heard in the thousands that are speaking up on behalf of our community. Remember these wonderful things don’t just happen; it takes the work of millions of us and our allies to come to fruition. We at Spectrum are starting an initiative that will rely on the amazing and resourceful minds of our beloved community. We want to know what is important to you.  Spectrum of Rockford LGBT is introducing our:

Do you have a LGBT cause or group idea that is important to you?

Would you like to be more involved in the LGBT community?

Well here’s your chance to do something! Whether it be safe sex, gay marriage, or helping in support groups. Please email or send us your idea and what your plan of action might be.  Out of the many applicants we will be selecting as many as we can to coordinate and help carry out these wonderful ideas and projects!

FIRST ANNUAL BIG GAY CAMPING WEEKEND!

Friday, September 23 through Sunday, September 25 at Sugar River Forest Preserve in Durand, IL.  This will be a family-friendly and pet-friendly event!  Bring your tents, campers, and RVs.  Luau, games & contests, neon-glow firepit party, pancake breakfast, and more!  Cost is $60.00 per person for the weekend (includes camping fees).  Must call to register by Wednesday, September 21, at 815-639-0312.  See events section for details.....volunteers needed!
